► Larval and adult olfactory neurons originate from the same five neuroblast lineages. ► Local inteneurons are born from BAlc and BAla2 lineages in both larva and adult. ► Projection neurons stem from BAmv3, BAlc, BAla1 and BAlp4. ► Larval and adult olfactory neurons form the same central tracts.
