PDGF mediates TGFβ-induced migration during development of the spinous process

► Tgfbr2 is required for neural arch closure and proliferation in adjacent mesenchyme. ► TGFβ stimulates migration of sclerotome associated mesenchyme. ► TGFβ stimulates expression of Pdgfb/c, which are also reduced in Tgfbr2cko cells. ► PDGF signalling is required for TGFβ mediated migration. ► TGFβ and PDGF regulate vertebrae development through paracrine interactions.
