Neuralized mediates asymmetric division of neural precursors by two distinct and sequential events: Promoting asymmetric localization of Numb and enhancing activation of Notch-signaling

► We have found that Neuralized mediates asymmetric division of neural precursor cells. ► Neuralized is asymmetrically localized to the Numb domain. ► It regulates asymmetric division via two distinct, sequential mechanisms. ► By asymmetric distribution of Numb via down-regulation of Pdm1, followed by trans-potentiation of Notch. ► There is interdependence between Neu and Numb for their asymmetric localizations.
