Effects of ion channels on proliferation in cultured human cardiac fibroblasts

► BKCa and ICl.vol channels participate in regulating proliferation of cultured human cardiac fibroblasts. ► INa has no effect on cell proliferation. ► Regulation of cell proliferation by BKCa and ICl.vol channels is related to promotion of cell cycle progression. ► The effect is mediated by modulating cyclin D1 and cyclin E expression.
