Association of Transthoracic Echocardiography Findings and Long-Term Outcomes in Patients Undergoing Workup of Stroke

TTE performed as part of an initial workup for stroke had minimal yield for identifying sources of embolism. Clinically important abnormalities found on TTE were independently associated with increased long-term mortality, but not recurrent stroke.
