Recombineering Pseudomonas protegens CHA0: An innovative approach that improves nitrogen fixation with impressive bactericidal potency

Genetic modification endowed the biocontrol strain Pseudomonas protegens CHA0-ΔretS-Nif with nitrogen-fixation capacity and high bactericidal activity. Optimal fermentation growth conditions were determined to exploit the industrial potential of this strain.
