Recuperación y expansión de la agroindustria azucarera mexiquense en un contexto de crisis (1821–1854)

ResumenEl trabajo analiza la agroindustria azucarera del estado de México en la primera mitad del siglo XIX a partir de tres factores: la producción de azúcar, aguardiente de caña y miel, sus mercados y las redes comerciales. Con relación a ellos, el artículo realiza una contribución a la discusión general sobre el desempeño de la economía mexicana en dicha época, mostrando un comportamiento regional diferencial.

This work analyses the sugar agro-industry of the State of Mexico, during the first haft of nineteenth century from three main issues: the production of sugar, cane rum and sugar-cane syrup; their markets and the commercial networks. Related to these issues, the article realizes a contribution of the general discussion on the operation of Mexican economy in this period, showing a regional differential activity.
