Nanoscale optical and photoresponsive electrical properties of P3HT and PCBM composite nanowires

► P3HT:PCBM heterojunction composite NWs were prepared through a wetting method. ► Nanodevice using the single NW was fabricated with Au and Al electrodes. ► Photoresponsive I−V characteristics of the single NW were observed. ► The I−V curve of the single NW in the dark condition showed diode-like behavior. ► Photovoltaic effect using P3HT:PCBM composite NWs was measured.
