• A di-thiocyanato bridged dimeric copper(II) compound has been synthesized.
• The ligand has been thiocyanated at the 4 position of the aromatic ring.
• C–H/π interactions in the compound forms 2D layer structure.
A di-thiocyanato bridged dimeric copper(II) compound has been synthesized using Cu(ClO4)2 and a tridentate Schiff base ligand H2L. During compound formation, ligand H2L has been thiocyanated at the 4 position of the aromatic ring. The X-ray diffraction study confirms the nucleophilic thiocyanation of aryl ring.
A di-thiocyanato bridged dimeric copper(II) compound has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. The ligand is thiocyanated at the 4 position of the aromatic ring during compound formation. The synthesis and characterization of the compound report an efficient and novel method for nucleophilic thiocyanation of activated aromatic compounds.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slide
