Manganese diphosphonate with a ladder-like chain structure exhibiting field-induced magnetic transition

A manganese diphosphonate Mn(hpedpH2)·3H2O, where edge-shared MnO6 octahedra are linked by CPO3 tetrahedra to form a ladder-like double chain is reported. The compound experiences a field-induced magnetic transition at low temperature.
