Synthesis, structural and spectroscopic characterization of novel zinc(II) complexes with N-methylsulfonyldithiocarbimato and N-methylsulfonyltrithiocarbimato ligands

A new N-R-sulfonyldithiocarbimato-zinc(II) complex with the formula (Ph4P)2[Zn(CH3SO2NCS2)2] (1) has been obtained by the reaction of potassium N-methylsulfonyldithiocarbimate, zinc(II) acetate and tetraphenylphosphonium chloride. A secondary product with the formula (Ph4P)2[Zn(CH3SO2NCS3)2] (2) was also obtained. Compounds 1 and 2 were characterized by X-ray diffraction and by IR and NMR spectroscopies.
