Two Mn6 single-molecule magnets with sulfur-contained capping ligand

► Two new Mn6 clusters were synthesized, structurally and magnetically characterized. ► They are both new members of the Mn6 SMM system with relatively large energy barriers around 45 K for S = 4 ground state. ► These complexes are possible Au-surface binding candidates for the preparation of monolayer SMM.
