Synthesis and X-ray structural characterization of sterically hindered bis(3,5-di-tert-butylsalicylaldiminato)Cu(II) complexes

► High yield synthesis of sterically hindered Cu(II) Schiff base complexes. ► Cu ion has obtained a tetrahedrally distorted square-planar geometry. ► Depending on the N-substitution cis- or trans-isomers are observed.
