Synthesis and structural studies of some fluorescent group XII metal complexes with a terpyridine based ligand
چکیده انگلیسی

Three 4′-(2-thienyl) substituted terpyridine (thioterpy) complexes of cadmium(II) and mercury(II) have been synthesized and fully characterized by spectroscopies. According to the crystallographic studies, the packing of these complexes was stabilized by several intermolecular interactions such as hydrogen bonding, C–H⋯π and π⋯π. Finally, the florescent properties of the prepared complexes have been investigated.

Three cadmium(II) and mercury(II) complexes containing the 4′-(2-thienyl)substituted terpyridine (thioterpy) ligand, [Cd(thioterpy)I2] (1), [Hg(thioterpy)Br2] (2) and [Hg(thioterpy)(SCN)2] (3), have been synthesized and fully characterized by spectroscopic methods. The solid structures of the obtained complexes were investigated by X-ray crystallography and their emission properties were studied.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slideResearch highlights
