Metal complexes of tetradentate and pentadentate N-o-hydroxybenzamido-meso-tetraphenylporphyrin ligand: M(N-NCO(o-OH)C6H4-tpp) (M = Zn2+, Ni2+, Cu2+) and M′(N-NCO(o-O) C6H4-tpp) (M′ = Mn3+) (tpp = 5, 10, 15, 20-tetraphenylporphyrinate)

This work reports X-ray crystals of four new metal complexes with M-N-N linkages i.e., two paramagnetic 6-Cu2+ and 8-Mn3+ and two diamagnetic 4-Zn2+, 5-Ni2+. The ESR and magnetic susceptibility study of 8-Mn3+ have yielded actual structural information in terms of the parameters of D in 8-Mn3+.
