Synthesis, crystal structure, electrochemical and magnetic properties of (NBu4)[ReCl5(L)] with LÂ =Â pyrimidine and pyridazine

The reaction of [ReCl6]2− with diazines in hot dmf affords the title compounds. Cyclic voltammetry studies show a one-electron reduction step for both complexes. Large zero-field splitting values and weak intermolecular antiferromagnetic interactions account for the observed magnetic behaviour.
