Synthesis, X-ray structure and luminescent properties of a new 1D terbium(III) coordination polymer based on 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate and 4,4′-bipyridine

► A new 1D terbium coordination polymer based on 2,4-dcpa and 4,4′-bpy ligands. ► Complex 1 forms 2D sheet networks via strong hydrogen bonding interactions. ► Intense green luminescence in the solid-state at room temperature. ► Long fluorescence lifetime of up to 1.132 ms.
