Sputtering preparation and magnetic properties of amorphous TbFeCo films

• Amorphous perpendicular TbFeCo films sputtered at low pressures exhibit high remanence ratio.
• Temperature difference of ~ 40 °C between Tc and Tcomp is determined in Tb-rich films.
• A thin in-plane magnetization soft layer is revealed by MOKE measurements.
• Large intrinsic polar Kerr rotation angle of ~ 0.2° @ 633 nm is demonstrated.
