• GeSeSb chalcogenide glass is widely used in fabricate IR optical fibers due to its interesting optical properties.
• Various models have been used to evaluate non-isothermal DSC thermograms in order to study the kinetics.
• Avrami index, evaluated from Mastusita model is 1.73, indicates one - dimensional growth. The value of frequency factor is 3.29 × 1014.
• Ge10Se75Sb15 chalcogenide glass follow well known two - third rule.
Kinetics of phase transformation of Ge10Se75Sb15 chalcogenide glass, prepared by melt quenching technique, has been studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at different heating rates 5, 10, 15 and 20 K/min under non-isothermal condition. Dependence of glass transition temperature on heating rate has been studied by Lasocka empirical relation. The crystallization parameters such as activation energy of crystallization, Avrami index (n), dimensionality of growth (m) and frequency factor have been evaluated using Kissinger, Augis-Bennett, Ozawa and Matusita-Sakka model. Average value of n comes out as 1.73, which indicates one dimensional growth. Further an effort has also been made to study thermal stability using various parameters.
