Thermal diffusivity measurements on ternary Ge-Te-Tl glasses using Photo-thermal Deflection method: Effect of thallium addition

► Thermal diffusivity α of thallium doped Ge-Te glasses is measured by photo thermal deflection method. ► The thermal diffusivity increases, goes through a maxima and then decreases as a function of Tl content. ► The increase in α correlates with the increase in network rigidity. ► The electrical resistivity ρ also shows similar behaviour. ► Variations in α and ρ correlate with the earlier results of electrical switching in these samples.
