Photoluminescence and Ce3+ → Tb3+ energy transfer in fluoro-apatite host Ca6La2Na2(PO4)6F2

► CLPF:0.10Ce3+ has broad excitation and emission bands with maximum at ∼300 nm and 345 nm. ► CLPF:0.10Tb3+ show broad bands and sharp excitation peaks in UV range. ► Green emission of Tb3+ can be enhanced through energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ ions in CLPF:0.10Tb3+, xCe3+.
