Microstructure and luminescent properties of Ce:Lu2SiO5 ceramic scintillator by spark plasma sintering

► Spark plasma sintering processing was employed to fabricate Ce:Lu2SiO5 ceramic. ► XEL intensity of Ce:Lu2SiO5 ceramic was 3 times greater than that of BGO crystal. ► The decay time under γ-ray excitation of Cs-137 radioactive source was 44.36 ns. ► The Ce:Lu2SiO5 scintillation ceramic is a candidate for future detection field.
