Mathematical methods for analyzing highly-twinned grain boundary networks

An intuitive formalism is presented for analyzing inter-relationships among perfect Σ3n misorientations. The formalism is simple, precise, and guaranteed to be a mathematically complete description of the relevant rotation group. Examples are presented to show the advantages of the formalism, both computationally and for clarifying earlier literature results.
