The effect of Ti substitution on the magnetic properties, microstructure, and aftereffect of PrxFe90−xB10 (x = 7–9.5) ribbons has been investigated. Thermal magnetic analysis and transmission electron microscopy reveal that 2 at.% Ti substitution effectively suppresses the 2:23:3 phase to form a larger amount of Pr2Fe14B and α-Fe phases, and refines grain distribution. Accordingly, the improved magnetic properties with higher coercivity are obtained in Ti substituted series nanocomposites. The relationship of the activation volume and coercivity for PrFeB nanocomposite could be fitted as V∼iHc-1.6.
