Novel alkyl substituted polyanilines/VOPO4 nanocomposites

In this paper we report on the synthesis and characterization of a few alkyl substituted polyanilines into VOPO4. This was achieved by treating the monomers with the highly oxidizing host VOPO4⋅2H2O. The monomers polymerize and simultaneously insert in between the layers of the host system. The resulting nanocomposites were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, FTIR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and electrical conductivity measurements.
