Deformation conditions for Ni powders undergoing mechanical processing

► We focus on the microstructural refinement of Ni powders. ► Ni powders were submitted to mechanical processing by ball milling. ► A phenomenological model is used to describe the crystallite size and the strain. ► The density of dislocations was correlated with the Vickers micro-hardness values.
