Using the spin-resolved electronic direct correlation function to estimate the correlation energy of the spin-polarized uniform electron gas

► An Ornstein-Zernike equation appropriate for identical particles is proposed. ► It gives good results for the correlation energy of the spin-polarized electron gas. ► The model correlation hole by Gori-Giorgi et al. gives only slightly worse results.
