The effects of substituting moment bearing RE=GdRE=Gd, Tb, and Dy in CeIn3CeIn3 are reported through X-ray diffraction (XRD), electrical resistivity (ρ(T)ρ(T)), magnetic susceptibility (χ(T)χ(T)) and magnetization (σ(μ0H)σ(μ0H)) measurements. XRD results for all compositions of the (Ce1‐xREx)In3(Ce1‐xREx)In3 systems indicate a cubic AuCu3-typeAuCu3-type structure. ρ(T)ρ(T) results indicate evolution from dominantly coherent Kondo lattice to metallic behaviour with increase in RE content. χ(T)χ(T) data at high temperatures follow the Curie–Weiss relation for all alloy compositions and give effective moment values μeffμeff which increase gradually from the expected value of 2.54μB for the Ce3+-ionCe3+-ion to the expected values of the RE3+-ionRE3+-ion. All three alloy systems exhibit antiferromagnetism and low temperature ρ(T)ρ(T) and χ(T)χ(T) data were used to find the Néel temperature TNTN as a function of x . σ(μ0H)σ(μ0H) data indicate metamagnetic behaviour for DyIn3DyIn3 and (Ce0.5Tb0.5)In3(Ce0.5Tb0.5)In3.
