Room temperature synthesis and characterization of polythiophene thin films by chemical bath deposition (CBD) method

► The polythiophene thin films were deposited by chemical bath deposition method for the first time. ► The oxidant concentration strongly affects the properties of the polythiophene thin films. ► The thickness of the film found to be increase with respect to increase in oxidant concentration. ► The increase in the thickness causes decrease in the transmittance, increase in the refractive index.
