Corrosion inhibition of Al-B4C metal matrix composites in a NaCl solution by benzotriazole

► BTAH is an efficient corrosion inhibitor for the Al-B4C MMCs in a NaCl solution. ► Inhibition efficiency of BTAH increases with increasing the BTAH concentration. ► Higher B4C level in the composite leads to higher corrosion inhibition efficiency. ► The inhibition efficiency of BTAH is also influenced by the immersion time. ► The adsorption behavior of BTAH obeys Freundlich adsorption isotherm.
