Synthetic control of large-area, ordered Fe nanotubes and their nanotube-core/alumina-sheath nanocables

► Fe nanotubes with different outer diameters (55 nm, 80 nm, 200 nm) were fabricated. ► The nanotubes were deposited directly into in anodic alumina membranes. ► Fe nanotubes are single crystalline along [110]. ► The crystal direction is independent of the outer diameter. ► The nanocables were realized according to the adjustment of the etching time.
