Synthesis of spheroidal ordered mesoporous carbon materials from silica/P123/butanol composites

► Spheroidal ordered mesoporous carbon materials were successfully synthesized. ► The effects of butanol addition on the morphologies of carbon materials were evaluated. ► The formation mechanism of spheroidal ordered mesoporous carbon materials is discussed briefly.
