Annealing studies on the structural and optical properties of electrodeposited CdO thin films

► CdO films were grown using electrochemical deposition on ITO substrate at room temperature. ► The samples were annealed in air, oxygen and nitrogen for 1 h for three annealing temperature regimes. ► X-ray diffraction measurements showed that the CdO films were of cubic structure. ► The cut-off wavelength shifted from blue to red on account of the annealing in different ambient. ► The bandgap variation of CdO films on annealing was achieved in the range of 2.20-2.54 eV.
