Morphology and size control of lead sulphide nanoparticles produced using methanolic lead acetate trihydrate-thiourea complex via different precipitation techniques

► Different precipitation techniques for the fabrication of PbS particles were studied using methanolic PbAc-TU complex. ► Effect of precipitation techniques is based on the decomposition of PbAc-TU complex. ► Effects on the morphology, size and physical properties of PbS particles were studied in detail. ► CBD, SCBD and MACBD techniques produced nanostructured, flakes and cubic PbS particles, respectively. ► CACBD technique with two different capping agents produced stable and monodispersed PbS NPs.
