Hydrothermal syntheses and gas sensing properties of cubic and quasi-cubic Zn2SnO4

► Hydrothermal synthesis of Zn2SnO4 with different morphologies and crystal structures. ► Quasi-cubic Zn2SnO4 formed in the presence of tetrabutylammonium hydroxide. ► The morphologies of the as-prepared Zn2SnO4 including cube, cuboctahedron, octahedron, and etc. ► Zn2SnO4 in quasi-cubic phase presented excellent gas sensing property than the cubic one.
