Poly(benzimidazole) functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes/100% acidified poly(hydroxyaminoether) composites: Synthesis, characterization and properties

► Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction was used in the functionalization of MWNTs. ► Acid-base interaction was utilized in the reinforcement of polymer with MWNTs. ► Mechanical and thermal properties of the composites were all improved.
