Crystal structure and photoluminescence of Tb3+-activated Ba3InB3O9

► The high-symmetry Ba3InB3O9 rhombohedral cell results from the condensation of distorted BaO9 polyhedra, regular InO6 octahedra and BO3 groups. ► Tb3+ doped Ba3InB3O9 can emit green light efficiently excited with shallow UV (360-380 nm), which is in good agreement with the emission wavelength of GaN-based LED chips.
