Energy metrics analysis of semi-transparent hybrid PVT double pass facade considering various silicon and non-silicon based PV module Hyphen is accepted
چکیده انگلیسی
In this paper, an attempt has been made to analyze the performance of Nm number of semi-transparent hybrid photovoltaic thermal double pass facades (HPVT-DPF) connected in combination of series and parallel (Case A), parallel (Case B) and series (Case C) configurations in terms of energy and exergy for four weather conditions of Srinagar. In Case B annual electrical energy gain is 1291.26 kW h and thermal energy gain is 8013.44 kW h whereas in Case C annual electrical energy gain is 709.36 kW h and thermal energy gain is 3731.56 kW h. On the basis of electrical energy Case B is considered as most appropriate configuration whereas Case C is considered better on the basis of thermal energy. The energy metrics (energy payback time, electricity production factor and life cycle conversion efficiency) of Nm semi-transparent HPVT-DPF have been analyzed by considering various silicon and non-silicon based PV modules for Case B. The embodied energy and annual energy outputs have been used for evaluation of energy metrics. For semi-transparent HPVT-DPF, it has been observed that the EPBT gets significantly reduced by taking into account the increase in annual thermal energy in addition to the annual electrical energy. The values of EPF and LCCE of HPVT module become higher as expected. The results also showed that EPF, LCCE, CO2 mitigations and carbon credits earned were maximum for HIT type PV module and hence it was recommended for the proposed system. The experimental validation of the proposed theoretical model for New Delhi weather station has also been performed for Nm = 1.
