Solar resource assessment in the Benelux by merging Meteosat-derived climate data and ground measurements

Solar resource assessment over the Benelux based on the period 1995-2005. ► This analysis relies on Meteosat-derived data merged with in situ data from up to 45 stations. ► The merging enables to reduce significantly the positive bias of the Meteosat-derived data. ► The sensitivity of the merged data with respect to the number of merging stations is assessed. ► Outcomes: long-term means, P90 values, variability, definition of climate zones, trend analysis.
