Mesoporous Pd@M (M=Pt, Au) microrods as excellent electrocatalysts for methanol oxidation

Concept of coupled coordination-thermal decomposition-galvanic replacement process has been discussed. A significant enhancement of activity due to the formation of a percolative core-shell nanoparticle network embedded in the Pd matrix is observed. This work will provide a general strategy to the manufacture of sophisticated bimetallic catalysts bearing three-dimensionally mesoporous features on the nanometer scale.205
