Characterization of material properties and heat source parameters in welding simulation of two overlapping beads on a substrate plate

- Aspects concerning the parameters of Goldak's double ellipsoidal heat source model are studied.
- Weldments with two beads on a substrate steel plate with different overlap percentages are prepared.
- Results are validated by comparing geometric shapes from FEA with experimental macrographs.
