3D numerical simulation of successive deposition of uniform molten Al droplets on a moving substrate and experimental validation

► A 3D VOF model was developed to simulate the successive deposition of uniform molten Al droplets onto a moving substrate. ► L-shaped ridges were resulted from combination of solidification and oscillation of droplets during deposition. ► Experiments were implemented and verified the simulation results.
