Thickness and chirality effects on tensile behavior of few-layer graphene by molecular dynamics simulations

► Mechanical response of few-layer graphene (FLG) is studied by MD simulations. ► Elastic modulus and strength decrease by in increasing the number of layers. ► Predicted elastic modulus of bulk graphite by MD is close to experimental range. ► Our simulations show that FLGs present brittle behavior.
