Serrated flow in powder metallurgy Al-5%Mg-1.2%Cr alloy processed by equal channel angular pressing

► The ECAP processed material exhibited SF at room temperature tensile test. ► SF with continuous strain hardening and stress plateaus were observed. ► Interaction of the shear bands with the second phase particles was observed.
