Modified Pechini synthesis of tricalcium aluminate powder

► A modified Pechini synthesis was used for obtained of tricalcium aluminate. ► C3A was obtained at 1300 °C/4 h and 1350 °C/1 h. ► Were eliminated successive thermal treatments and intermediate grinding. ► The morphology of synthesised C3A was assessed by electron microscopy (SEM, TEM). ► Was observed a high tendency of the particles to form aggregates.
