Corrosion resistance characterization of porous alumina membrane supports

► Porous alumina membrane supports fabricated by extrusion-drying-sintering process. ► Corrosion resistance in 20 wt.% H2SO4 and 1, 5, 10 wt.% NaOH aqueous solutions. ► Rapid mass loss and loss of flexural strength occurred in hot NaOH solution. ► Resistant to strong acid corrosion with low mass loss, low flexural strength loss. ► Porous alumina supports have potential for treatment of strong acid waste liquids.
