A facile electron microscopy method for measuring precipitate volume fractions in AlCuMg alloys

► We have proposed a facile method to measure precipitate volume fractions for precipitation-hardened metals. ► This technique works well for the square-shaped θ′-phase nano-precipitates in 2xxx aluminum alloys. ► Interesting is that the proposed method is easy for materials scientists and engineers to perform.
