Microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of the joint of TiAl alloys and C/SiC composites vacuum brazed with Ag-Cu filler metal

► Diffusion of Ti and Al from TiAl alloy has great influence on the joint microstructure. ► The thickness of the TiC reaction layer is the main controlling factor for the joint quality. ► A conceptual microstructural evolution for the joint has been proposed.
