Ageing study of Cu-Al-Be hypoeutectoid shape memory alloy

►Precipitation occurs for an ageing time of 864 ks (240 h) at 350 °C. This result was confirmed by DSC analysis. ►XRD analyses confirmed that under isothermal conditions the equilibrium precipitation of (α + γ2) phases occurs. ►SEM and optical microscopy observations revealed that precipitation is discontinuous. ►DSC analyses under non isothermal conditions revealed a tendency of stabilisation of transformation points after the first cycle, with a phase transformation enthalpy around 4 J/g.
