High resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy of manganese oxides: Application to Mn3O4 nanoparticles

►Mn3O4 bulk and nano were studied by XRD, TEM and EELS. ►XRD and TEM determine the degree of crystallinity and the narrow grain size. ►HREELS gave access to the Mn3+/Mn2+ ratio. ►Mn3O4 nano have vacancies on the tetrahedral sites.
